WEEK TWO: DAY 1
My experience at Barefoot has been life changing. Every year when I come to camp here, I grow. I've learned patience and how to be a leader to others. For example, encouraging my peers and edifying them and lifting them up.

I'm 15 and I'm from Charleston, South Carolina. I am going to Barefoot Republic Camp for both weeks. Camp 2008 was my first year at camp. I have had the absolute best time of my life. Everyone was very comforting and open. They accept me for me and lift me up when I was down. If you have never been to Barefoot, I really encourage you to go. You will have a blast. My favorite part was making new friends and expressing ourselves to each other.

WEEK TWO: DAY 2
I like Barefoot Republic Camp because it's fun and you can enjoy people you've never met before. It rocks and the messy games were so funny. So was seeing your friends covered in milk and flour. To the future Barefoot campers, I hope you will enjoy this camp as much as I have.

My name is Rueben Nelson. I am 17. This is my fourth year at Barefoot. Each year I meet someone new. This year I met Matt Jimenez. We kick it at free time and have fun with the counselors. We play fun games and have cool roommates. I would like to thank Tommy, Ms. Tracey, Herb and Ms. Sarah and everyone else at Barefoot.

WEEK TWO: DAY 3
Barefoot is really fun. I have had a great time. Everything is awesome; the messy games, the food and the classes. My favorite class has been drama. Drama is really dramatic because we got to play with costume makeup and create special effects. I love Barefoot!

On July 14th I was sitting in the front seat of my car and I thought, "the girls at Barefoot will hate me." But to my surprise, they love me; not like love love, but like sisterly love. My friend Meredith is my roommate. She is the best. My counselor's names are Ms. Kelsey, Ms. Sirah and Ms. Soupy. They are MAGNIFICANT counselors. The whole group made signs and we decided on a group name. We finally picked one. We are the Barefoot Warriors. Our chant goes like this "Osh Kosh, killo-wash, killo wingo, dingo dosh. Oshki waa waa, shishkumb. Barefoot warriors rah, rah, rah."
Next we went to dinner. It was good. The chefs are great. After dinner we had evening program. We had a great time there. Then we had messy games. Barefoot Warriors won two games and came in second place in the other. Later we took showers and went to sleep!

WEEK TWO: DAY 4
I speak from the position of what I am an unbeliever tryin' to find Christ. See I've made the first step of puttin' forgiveness in my life and for the first time I'm startin' to see light God promised me that I have the next blessin' if I only Confess that Jesus died on the cross for my sins And being at Barefoot brought me even closer to the confession First there's speech isn't that right? Then there's love followed by life. Keep your purity and strong faith Ya heard me that's what Herb says But on the serious note how could I even think of negativity when God promised me his words are true? Two wise people once told me to keep on prayin' and he'll answer you. What motivated a change in me was when Mrs. Vernae asked if someone would know I was a Christian just by talking to me. So now I'm following in my father's footstep so I'VE GOT NEXT!

WEEK TWO: DAY 5
My name is Joel Myou. I cam from Liberia, but grew up in the Ivory Coast where I learned French. I've lived in Atlanta, Georgia for four years. One morning this lady named Peg came to my house with a Barefoot Camp Application to fill out. I asked my self how I would pay for this camp. The next morning she called and told me I got a scholarship to go to the camp. First of all, I didn't know that Barefoot Camp was a camp that brings teenagers with different colors, different languages and different hearts together to draw them toward Christ our Savior. At Barefoot Camp, I learned that as we the teenagers, we shouldn't let anyone look down on us and we should always remember that we are the future leaders. At Barefoot Camp, I also learned that no matter how you look, no mater what people say, remember that God always loves you. In many ways Barefoot Camp changed my heart and I know as I leave here to go back to Georgia I will be a new person in Christ. Our little sisters and little brothers who were looking up to us, I hope that you learned something new that you will apply to their lives.
And always remember that "We Got Next" Thank you!

My name is Frankie. I am 16 and from Nashville. This was my 2nd year at Barefoot. I was part of the oldest group. We call ourselves the "Globe Stars". Our theme was "We Got Next" and our theme verse was 1 Timothy 4:12. "Let no one despise you because you are young, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith and in purity." Throughout this week that verse has been stuck in my head. The 1st day the campers were shy and quiet, but I was loud. I was loud because Barefoot is about coming out of your comfort zone. Me and some other group members led our group the whole week. By the 2nd day my voice was gone completely. But I was happy because that just meant I was load and out of my shell. I learned a lot this week at Barefoot. My whole life I have been calling myself a Christian, but I soon realized that I can say it as much as I want, but is it true? By listening to our camp Pastor, Herb and my counselors, I noticed that I wasn't. But I also noticed that in time I can become a true Christian. All I have to do is follow the words of God. This camp gave me hope and happiness. It was the best week of my life too. It taught me how life should be live. This camp made me proud of myself. Tonight I actually picked up the bible and read it. That's a lot for me. This camp is fun and teaches you a lot. I've not heard one person say they didn't like Barefoot camp. Everyone has smiles on their faces. Our generation is moving up in life and we are maturing. As I move along in life, I know I will always cherish this moment. The moment I can truly say I'm will to sacrifice, I'm ready to follow God. Without this camp I don't know if that would of ever happend. Thanks Barefoot!

WEEK ONE: DAY 1
Today was my first day at Barefoot Republic Camp. I was excited to find out that my friend Claire and I were in the same room. We have 2 other dorm-mates, Dreka and Ashley. Both of them are really nice. We all had a lot of fun learning chants, picking our a name, and learning our group chant. We finally decided on the NEXT GIRLS, and a stomp-kind of chant. Dinner was really fun. I saw my brother and my sister. One thing that I love about Barefoot is evening worship. We sing really cool songs and then Melanie takes us into reflection. So far, so good, I really like Barefoot.

My favorite activity in camp Barefoot is when we got to do the messy games. I had so much fun doing them. Also, I loved when I got to meet my counselor, her name is Ms. Jenae. She is a good person. I hope I get to come to Barefoot next year.

Our first day at Barefoot was so fun! When we arrived, I got to see all my friends from last year. Later, we got to meet all the people in our Republic. After we went to dinner, we had our worship service! I thought everyone did a really great job. After that we had messy games. We had to stick our faces in tins of milk, flour, ketchup & mustard. It was really gross, but really fun too! Then after our awesome first day, we got to go shower & go to bed!

WEEK ONE: Day 2
My name is Jamario Baugh aka Knuckle head. My Republic name is New Elite and we're number one. My second day began by waking up early around 7:00 am to get ready for family devo. Family devo was fun because we stretched after we studied our verse for the day. After family devo, we departed for breakfast. I ate so much that I was stuffed. After breakfast we departed to go to specialties. My specialty was basketball. In basketball we did drills and I had a chance to play kids I hadn't met before. I met a lot of new friends. I learned to work as a team with my Republic during messy games and group competitions. Praise and worship at night was exciting because I was constantly out of my seat singing and dancing, feeling the music and paying attention to Pastor Chan.

| WEEK ONE: Day 3
Today is day 3 of camp. It's really fun! My specialty is STOMP and my elective was drama. You get so tired by the end of the day. It's worth it though. I can't wait to experience the rest of the week at Barefoot!

Hey, I'm Ray. Today I played amazing music in my music performance class. I learned the song "Should I Stay or Should I Go" by The Clash. I learned how to produce music on the computer. I learned a lot of Chants. I really like Barefoot Camp. The Camp Director, Herb is the loudest, funniest guy in the world. I also saw my buddy Thomas. I'm having a pretty good time here.

WEEK ONE: Day 4
Barefoot has been an encouragement for me to go outside my comfort zone and be friends with everyone and just love. Completely love through the simple and complicated things. All I want is to have God's love and share it with the entire world!

Barefoot is a great camp to go to because it brings lots of people from different areas or backgrounds all together. Parent's this is a great and wonderful place to bring your kids.
It is a place where your kids can act themselves. If your kid has been going through a tough time he/she should come here because Barefoot will help them feel better by teaching about God and learning about the bible. In that process, they will lift the burden off the shoulders of your child so he/she can grow and follow the ways of Jesus. He/she will come back a new person.

WEEK ONE: Day 5
Today was my second to last day of Barefoot. We had a food fight and everyone was covered with stuff. We got washed off and then went to worship service. After worship we had a block party and got free snow cones and popcorn. Barefoot is fun.

For me Barefoot is a way to escape from the real world. It's a place where the only thing that matters is that we're children of God. I love everything about Barefoot...the people, the worship, the atmosphere, the skating, and the best part is playing on stage with my guitar. When I came here last year for the first time I would never have guessed that a camp could be so fun and moving at the same time. Barefoot Republic Camp has without a doubt changed my life. The moments I have spent here praising God are the moments that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I encourage everyone to come because one week here will move you in way you never thought possible. BRC is the place for me!
